Central African Republic

rca_informatici_a_gofo2010 - As part of a team of 4 volunteers, I took part to a 3 week mission through the Central African Republic on behalf of the General Province of Chad-Central African Republic of the Order of Capuchin Friars Minor. The team objective was to bring internet connection to the home missions of Ndim, Ngaoundai and Gofo, installing satellite dishes and configuring routers. We had to travel for as many as 10/12 hours a day by car on dirt tracks to reach the  missions, install satellite dishes and configure routers with minimal tools. We worked and lived close to each other all day long in a religious catholic environment. Aside from the technical experience, this engagement was a great lesson on how to be adaptive, flexible, open and positive minded.

2008 - As a volunteer in a team of 4 I took part in a 2 week mission through the Central African Republic on behalf of the General Province of Chad-Central African Republic of the Order of Capuchin Friars Minor. My task was to develop a MS Access-based application for the historical document archive and to assist with troubleshooting and upgrading the mission’s internet connection which was inoperative due to users’ misuse and out-of-date hardware.
